How to Update Password and Security Settings (for Admins only)

As a Company Admin, you have the ability to set security settings for your company.  You can specify the password strength requirements, a timeframe for when passwords expire, and a timeframe for when a user session expires.

Security Settings

Security Settings are located on the Account tab under the Company Info page on the right navigation bar under Security Settings.

Password Strength

Password strength settings determine the password requirements for a user creating or updating a password for their account. Options:

None:

If the password strength field is blank there are no password requirements.

Weak:

  •       A minimum of 5 characters
  •       May not have any whitespace
  •       May not include your email address or user name
  •       May not be one of the most common known passwords

Reasonable:

  •       A minimum of 8 characters
  •       Must include at least two of upper case, lower case, symbol, or number
  •       May not have any whitespace
  •       May not include your email address or user name
  •       May not be one of the most common known passwords

Strong:

  •       A minimum of 8 characters
  •       Must include at least one each of upper case, lower case, symbol, and number
  •       May not have repeating characters or sequences
  •       May not have any whitespace
  •       May not include your email address or user name
  •       May not be one of the most common known passwords

Password Expiration

Password expiration settings determine the timeframe for when a password expires and the user is prompted to reset their password.  Options:

  • Never
  • 30 Days
  • 60 Days
  • 90 Days
  • 180 Days

Session Expiration

Session expiration settings determine the timeframe for when a user session expires and the user is logged out.  Options:

  • Never
  • 1 Day
  • 7 Days
  • 30 Days
  • 60 Days
  • 90 Days
  • 180 Days
